Joan Renee Jeffries

Joan Renee Jeffries was the eldest daughter born to parents King James Laster and Alice O. Laster, on November 8, 1946, in Oakland California. She was mother to Sean Whittington who pre-deceased her, and became wife to Don Jeffries in 1983.
Joan and Don were the first members of the family to move to Sacramento County from the Bay Area in the late 1980’s. Joan found homes here for the rest of the family who now reside in Elk Grove.
Joan’s career spanned several professions from secretarial, to real estate, to management. She retired in 2003 and became a Dog Mom to Buster in in 2014, whom she loved dearly. She loved planting roses in her garden and had recently become a fan of succulents and cactus.
Joan is survived by her husband, Don Jeffries, Stepdaughter, Lakeyshia Holman, StepSon-in-law, Shaun Holman, their children (grandchildren); Ilana Holman, Shawn Holman, and Phillip Holman; her sisters Barbara Chappelle, Corlis Myers, Jamie Ervin and brother-in-law Joseph Chappelle; Godson and nephew Jordan Ervin, nephews Geramie Ervin and Matthew Myers, nieces Aundreia Chappelle, Alicyn Chappelle, and Leilani Ervin; great niece Ariana Chappelle-Allen, and great nephews Malcolm Allen, Dallas DeWald, and Bricyn Dewald.
