Jeffry Richard Jones

Jones, Jeffry Richard peacefully passed away on June 24, 2025, from complications following a stroke. Aged 75. Born in Oakland, California. A resident of Sacramento for most of his life. Jeff is survived by his wife of 53 years Jennifer; his daughters Jessica Mulholland Erickson (Todd), Kristen Miller, and Stephanie Mordhorst (Joel); and his four grandchildren Tucker Mulholland, Sophie Miller, McKinley Mordhorst, and Hudson Mordhorst. Jeff is predeceased by his mother Kathryn P. Jones and father Lloyd B. Jones, brothers Kenneth L. Jones and Robert O. Jones, and sister Nancy O’Dell. He graduated from C. K. McClatchy High School, the University of California at Davis, and McGeorge School of Law. Jeff enjoyed a successful career as Senior Escrow Officer before he went on to study law at McGeorge. During his long and successful career as a real estate attorney at both McDonough, Holland and Allen and Boutin Jones, Jeff was trusted by countless clients to take care of their complex real estate transactions. He was nominated by his peers and awarded “Best Lawyer” in California in the field of Real Property Law. Jeff prided himself on living a healthy lifestyle that included lean eating and daily exercise. One of his greatest joys was conversing and spending time with his family and friends.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, therapists, and staff at Mercy San Juan Hospital for the care and compassion they gave Jeff and his family during his battle. The memorial service will be held at East Lawn Mortuary 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento, California, on Friday, July 18 at 2 p.m. Reception to follow.
