James Thomas Baatz

James (Jim) Thomas Baatz passed away on December 3, 2023 in Carmichael, CA. His passing was peaceful.

Jim was born in Allentown, PA on August 15, 1942, to Thomas A. Baatz and Julia Baatz (Magwar). After graduating from Hellertown High School, Hellertown, PA. Jim served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. 3 of those years were spent in Turkey and England. Jim returned to McClellan AFB, North Highlands, CA to finish his enlistment making California his home.

Jim attended Tampa University, American River College in Sacramento and Laney College in Oakland where he studied Accounting and Business. Jim worked as an accountant for Kaiser Aluminum in Oakland then spent 25 years as an Accountant and Assistant Accounting Department Manager for Campbell Soup Company. Jim finished his career as a Controller for Ellis & Ellis Sign Company.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved soulmate Gerlinde Maria Garrett. He is survived by his loving stepdaughter, Diana Gerlinde Rossmy (Rusty Dane) and his beloved grandson, Neil Alexander Pena. Jim leaves behind many loving memories to be cherished by his family and friends. A life well lived and loved by many. He will be dearly missed.

Memorial services will be held December 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the East Lawn Memorial Park Chapel, 4300 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA. Internment will follow in the East Lawn Memorial Park, Heritage Garden.
