Jack Wong peacefully passed away unexpectedly on November 30, 2022 in Sacramento, California. He was 87 years old. He was born on November 1, 1935 in Toisan, Guangdong Province, China. Jack came to United States at the age 16 and settled in San Francisco, CA. He graduated from Galileo High School in 1955. In 1958, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, Artillary division, and was stationed at Fort Lewis. 

After leaving the service he moved to Sacramento. He met and married Madeline (Maggie) in Vancouver Canada in 1962, They were married 60 years. Beloved father of 3 - Janyce, Jason, and Jeffrey (Gina); a grandfather of 4 - Corinne (Jacob), Danielle (Michael), Brandon, and Evan; and an overjoyed great grandfather of 2 - Jaxton and Margaux, with a third great grandchild on the way.

Jack had a successful career as a meat cutter. He and a partner opened “Big Top Market” in Sacramento where he worked for 17 years. He was a member of the (UFCW-#8) where he worked for Safeway and retired in 2000 with 20 years of service. 

Jack was a lifetime member of the Wong Family Benevolent Association.

He enjoyed fishing with friends, and in retirement playing golf. He joined The Sacramento Chinese Senior Golf Club and achieved “A Hole in One“. He also enjoyed fishing, playing mahjong, getting together with friends for coffee daily, watching football, basketball and golf on TV.

Jack lived a very healthy, happy, loving and easy-going life.

A short service will be held at East Lawn Elk Grove Mortuary and Memorial Park, 9189 E Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove CA 95624 on Thursday, December 22, 2022. Visitation at 1:00 pm, service at 2:00 pm. A burial service will be held immediately.
