Jack Byron Lindeman, 92, passed away on October 18, 2024, in his hometown of Sacramento, CA. Jack served in the Navy during the Korean War, a period that greatly influenced his life and character.
Following his military service, Jack dedicated his career to civil service with the State of California, both at DMV and Franchise Tax Board. Outside of work, Jack was an avid outdoorsman who cherished fishing, hiking, hunting, camping and gardening. His love for sports was evident through his unwavering support for the San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, and Sacramento Kings.
Jack was known for his kind and gentle nature, complemented by a wicked dry wit that brought laughter to those around him. He was a beloved figure in his community and family.
He leaves behind his wife of 69 years, Gloria, his son Ken and daughter-in-law Jill, his daughter Trudy and son-in-law Chuck Lewis, his grandchildren Matt and Kelly Lindeman, Ashley (Clint) Erwin and Katie Lewis, and great-grandchildren Jaxon and Harley. Jack was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Robert.
A private service will be held to honor Jack's life. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the San Francisco Giants Community Fund in memory of Jack. His memory will be cherished in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
