Irene Gunda Banglos

Irene Gunda Banglos was born in Soong, Llorente, Eastern Samar, in 1938. She peacefully passed away from lung cancer on July 21, 2023. She was surrounded and survived by her 2 sons Kirk and Andre and their spouses Gigi and Joanne; 7 grandchildren Anjela, Jacob, Abbygail, Kristyna, Malia, Kaitlynn, and Breyanna Banglos; 3 great grandchildren: Rowan Mapa, Kainoa Banglos, and Ava Mapa.

In 1967 she immigrated from the Philippines to Hawaii, where she met her future husband, Manuel S. Banglos. Together, they raised their two sons on Oahu, Hawaii. Winter of 1984, Irene & Manuel moved their family to the San Francisco Bay Area and settled down in Santa Clara & San Jose, CA, where she had resided before moving to Roseville, CA under the care of her oldest son and family in 2023.

Irene was known for her laughter, generosity and kindness. She always had a smile on her face and will always offer you food when you visit her home. She loved socializing, playing bingo & slot machines, tending to houseplants, attending her Llorentenian Town Fiestas in the SF Bay Area, and devoted time to her grandchildren and great children. She was also a devoted Catholic, went to church every Sunday, prayed the rosary daily and loved God deeply as well as her town patron St. Anthony.

Irene "Manang Ining" will be truly missed. May the Lord Welcome her into the gates of heaven as she watches over her loved ones.
