Henry F. Yee, 96, of Sacramento, passed away on July 5, 2026.
Henry was born September 30, 1929, in Winkelman, Arizona, to Yung Chee Yee and Jin Sue Ong, and attended school in Sacramento. A Korean War veteran, he served in the Air Force before graduating from UC Berkeley. He worked as an architect with several firms before founding his own practice, Henry F. Yee & Associates. On May 25, 1958, he married Junea Louie in San Mateo, California.
Henry's architectural legacy includes several buildings in Sacramento's Chinatown, among them the three-story Bing Kong Tong Building and the Sun Yat-sen Memorial. In 1969, he was appointed to the Sacramento City Planning Commission, where he served for three years.
Henry is survived by his wife, Junea Yee; children Julie Hom (Carter), Craig Yee (Eloisa), Suzanne Fong (Glenn), and Darren Yee (Anna Wong); grandchildren Lauren Larsen (Tyler), Bryant Hom (Monica), Kylie Fong, Amanda Fong, and Russell Yee; and great-grandchildren Adelyn, Wells, and Emma Larsen, and Hugo Hom.
