Helen S. Yang, a devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her faith community, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on March 19, 1936, in Seoul, Korea, Helen lived a life rooted in unwavering faith, compassion, and dedication to those she loved.
In pursuit of a better life for her family, Helen immigrated to the United States when her eldest son was three. She brought with her a fierce determination and a quiet strength that would shape the lives of those around her.
A woman of deep spiritual conviction, Helen was a pillar in her church, often volunteering in the kitchen or teaching Sunday school. Her faith was practiced and lived—woven into every facet of her life, from how she raised her children to the steady support she offered others. Her home was a place of prayer, comfort, and encouragement for all who entered.
Helen was the proud mother of two and a beloved grandmother of six. She led her family with grace and instilled in them strong values, resilience, and the importance of faith. She found joy in making cozy, handmade blankets for her grandchildren when they were young, each designed with care and love. Beyond her role as a mother and grandmother, Helen was an avid traveler, a skilled seamstress, and a dedicated gardener whose vibrant backyard reflected the beauty and care she brought into the world.
Professionally, Helen spent over 25 years at Jessica McClintock, rising from an entry-level pattern maker to a position in upper management. Her career was a testament to her work ethic, talent, and perseverance.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Fred; her son Steve (Cristin) and their sons Alexander and Nicholas; and her son Charles (Nancy) and their children Alexis, Sydney, Hailee, and Charles. Her legacy lives on in the faith, love, and strength she instilled in her family and community.
