Hazel Mae Fields

Hazel Mae Fields, a lifelong resident of Sacramento, California, passed away on January 24, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on December 14, 1941, Hazel was the youngest child of the late Harrison Fields and Hazel Bell Fields and was preceded in death by her siblings, Nelda Fields and Olin Fields.

For thirty years, Hazel served diligently as a parking attendant at Sacramento International Airport, where she was a familiar and friendly face to many travelers. Her work ethic and dedication to her role were emblematic of her overall approach to life-reliable, steadfast, and always with a smile.

Known for her generosity and kindness, Hazel's presence was a source of comfort and joy to those around her. She was quick to share a laugh and had a playful wit, but she was equally known for her spirited nature when the occasion called for it.

Hazel's love for animals, especially her dogs Wolf, Jewel, and Snow, knew no bounds. They were her constant companions and brought her immense happiness. In 2016, Hazel's family grew when she adopted her daughter, Barbra, a decision that brought her great joy and fulfillment.

Left to honor Hazel and remember her love are her niece Robin Huntley, Robin's husband and children, and her adopted daughter Barbra Chronister. Hazel's memory will be cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.

Services to commemorate Hazel's life will be held on February 2, 2024, at East Lawn Cemeteries located at 4300 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95819. The viewing will take place from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, followed by a service at 11:30 am. The dedicated staff at East Lawn Cemeteries will be assisting the family during this time of remembrance.

Hazel Mae Fields will be laid to rest in a ceremony that reflects the respect and admiration she garnered throughout her life. Her spirit and legacy will live on through the many lives she touched. May she rest in peace.
