Harold âHalâ Wiener passed away peacefully at home just five days shy of his 100th birthday. Born to David and Bertha Wiener he happily lived his entire life here in Sacramento. He was preceded in death by adored daughter Rebecca and his loving wife of 50 years Nancy. Hal is survived by a devoted family: daughter Susan and husband Stephen Hackett, granddaughter Kathryn Cahill, husband Nicholas and great granddaughter Elliott, grandson Zachary Hackett, wife Taylor and great grandson Jameson.
Hal graduated from C.K. McClatchy high school in 1940, then proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Upon his return he began a successful career in the insurance industry, which lasted until his retirement while working for the Corroon & Black - James Burpo Insurance Company.
Family, friends and travel were what he cherished and valued in life and he was fortunate enough to have an abundance of all three.
Donations in his honor can be made to Sacramento Children's Home (kidshome.org) or Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary (happytails.org)
