Sister Hannah Jean Merriwether Stevenson
committed herself to the Christian faith at an early age and united with Bethel A.M.E. Church in Malvern,
Arkansas. She went from labor to reward on August 31, 2022 at 1:43pm.
She was married to Leroy Stevenson Senior on
December 23, 1956. To this union three children were born, two daughters and one son. She united with
Century Chapel in 1981 after moving to Sacramento,
California. She was a graduate of Wilson High School, class of 1954 and of Shorter College in Little Rock,
Arkansas. She worked at the Sacramento Army Depot until she retired.
Hannah Jean was preceded in death by husband Leroy Stevenson and is survived by brother Chester Sanders Jr., son Leroy Ivan Stevenson Jr. and wife Mia Stevenson, daughters Marian Brown and husband
Douglas Brown, and Cheryl McKinzie; granddaughters Jackeeâ Brown, Kamla Dixon and husband Lorenzo
Dixon, Jamayca McKinzie, Elisse McNair and husband Ian McNair, Janeeâ VanDoren, Ivanna Evans and
husband Sheridon Evans, and Macy McKinzie;
grandsons LaSalle VanDoren Jr. and Gerald VanDoren, one God son, Malachi Smith; one sister-in-law Mary Lou Marshall, and a host of great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
