Han Gia Le was born in Nam Dinh, Vietnam on February 2, 1932. His father passed away when he was in grade school; he and his siblings were raised by their mother. In 1954, he joined the Republic of Vietnam Military, eventually climbing the ranks to Lieutenant Colonel of Artillery. He proudly served for 21 years until the Fall of Saigon in 1975. Following the Fall of Saigon, he was subjected to almost 10 years of prison camp by the Vietnamese Communist Party. He lived 91 blessed years, earned many different titles, but the proudest ones of all were those associated to his family. He was a great-grandfather, a grandfather, a father, a husband, a son, a brother, and a cousin to many. Han passed away peacefully at his home on October 22, 2023 while surrounded by his loved ones.
