Gloria “JANE” Engel passed away on March 29, 2024 at the age of 95. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Jane was born on November 26, 1928 in Sacramento, California and graduated from Sacramento High School. Jane was married to Wallace “Wally” Engel for nearly 73 years.

Jane and her husband enjoyed many activities including square dancing and traveling in their motor home. Jane was an avid golfer who played well into her 80’s and was a member of Sierra View Country Club in Roseville.

The light and focus of Jane’s life was her family. She was devoted to her daughter and grandson and was especially delighted with her twin great-grandchildren.

Jane is survived by her daughter Peggy (Stan Keltner), grandson Shawn Smelosky (Shannon) and great-grandchildren Ty and Harlie Smelosky. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Wally Engel, in 2019, and her parents Kenneth and Ruth Bowers. Jane enjoyed literally hundreds of friends and activities over the years. She had a lovely demeanor and always exhibited poise and style in her dress and bearing.

Services will be private for the family. The family requests that remembrances be made to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, Northern Calif, 2425 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95817
