Glenn Alan Hobday, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on March 14, 2025, at the age of 90 after a brief illness.
Born on June 6, 1934, in Galt, California, Glenn graduated from Elk Grove High School in 1952. He was active in the Future Farmers of America, serving as president, and also lettered in basketball.
After high school, Glenn served in the U.S. Army as an Aerial Photo Interpreter in Korea from 1955 to 1957. He later joined the Army Reserves and the California National Guard before receiving an honorable discharge.
On November 23, 1958, he married Doris Nolte, and Sacramento became their lifelong home. Glenn worked for 32 years at the California Department of Motor Vehicles as a computer programmer while continuing his education at Sacramento City College, where he earned two associate degrees in business and data processing.
Glenn and Doris shared 65 wonderful years together before her passing in November 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Vera Hobday; his wife, Doris; his daughter, Alene; his sister, Carol Shaw; and his brother, Howard. He is survived by his children, Alan (Karla) Hobday, Annette Hobday (Aaron Douglas), and Alanna (Craig) Koyama; along with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Glenn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
