Gina M. Giacomelli

Gina Giacomelli passed away peacefully on July 11, 2022, at the age of 62 from pancreatic cancer.

She was born to Thomas Giacomelli and Melissa Giacomelli (Davis) on January 18, 1960 and spent her childhood and early adult years in and around the San Fernando Valley. In the early 1990s she moved to the eastern suburbs of Sacramento, California and worked for Data Systems Group as a programmer for nearly 30 years.

She raised her son, Michael Angelillo, her nephew, Jonathan Giacomelli, and cared for her mother all while working full time, as well as, going back to college and obtaining her bachelor's degree in Psychology from CSU, Sacramento in 2003.

Gina had a big heart and helped numerous family and friends by giving them a place to live, meals, advice, transportation, and other assistance until they were able to get back on their feet. She would also volunteer weekly at Maryhouse with her coworkers. Gina loved the ocean, all animals, especially dogs, and especially German Shepherds, gardening, and her grandchild and grandnieces and nephews.

Gina was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents and her siblings Ginny, Walt, and Betty. She is survived by her son, Michael, her daughter in law Erin, her grandchild Abby, her brother Tom Jr., and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service is scheduled for 9:30 am on July 24, 2022 at East Lawn Mortuary at 5757 Greenback Ln Sacramento, CA 95841.
