Carson City, Neveda--On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, Jerry Fulghum, a Marine Corp Veteran and beloved family man, passed away. He was seventy-one. Born to Gerald Fulghum and Vivian Kirklin on March 1, 1951 in El Paso, Texas. Jerry graduated in Engineering Technology out of Eastern Arizona College, Thatcher AZ in 1976 and Pre-Law in 1977. Jerry was a Safety Engineer and a Certified Safety Professional with over 45 years experience in mining, tunneling and heavy civil construction safety, including 16 years with Cal-OSHA's Mining and Tunneling Unit. In 1973 Jerry married the love of his life Mary and they resided in Ranch Cordova, CA along with his 3 step sons, Wayne, Ed and Shawn. In 1975 Jerry and Mary welcomed their 4th son Paul while they were living in Globe, Arizona. Jerry was truly a subject matter expert and he enjoyed reading, learning and educating others. Jerry was best known for his quick-witted humor, fierce determination, and generous spirit. He is survived by his mother Vivian, Brother Robby and wife Debbie, Sisters Yvonne and O'Donna along with numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. (And his well loved Rhodesian Ridgebacks). He was preceded in death by his father Gerald, wife Mary, son Shawn Crawford, son Paul Fulghum, and brother David. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 30th at 11am at East Lawn Greenback and I-80 in Sacramento. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots or the Salvation Army.
