Georjan Gee

September 11, 1946 — August 13, 2021

For her high school graduation, she received beautiful blue luggage and that gift sparked a lifetime passion for travel and adventure. On August 13, 2021,  Georjan Gee of Roseville, CA, age 74 made the final journey to her resting place as she passed away at home.

She is survived by her sisters: Roberta (Bobbie) Gee, Roseville, CA, Janelle and Benson Lee, Sacramento, CA, Shelley and Larry Hirsch, Los Angeles, CA and is the daughter of the late George and Ruby Gee, New China Café. She is also survived by extended family in the Bay Area.

Georjan attended Roseville High School and American River College where she pioneered the ‘new’ field of computers in the early ‘70’s.  She was a trailblazer as a female, Asian programmer who worked for the City of Sacramento and Placer County. With both positions, she developed long-lasting friendships.

Upon retirement, Georjan fulfilled the dream of so many….worldwide travel. She visited  exotic locations from Harbin, China to see ice sculptures to moai statues in the Easter Islands. She found wonder and amazement in food, culture and everything from the mundane to the sublime.  If there was music playing anywhere, you could find Georjan grooving to the beat. She loved all music, but was an enthusiastic jazz fan.  She attended many concerts and even jazz cruises. Along the way, she made lasting friendships with travel buddies.

Georjan’s greatest joy was to make people happy. From saying a cheerful ‘good morning’ to a parking attendant to making other travelers chuckle with funny hats on the tour bus, she brightened the day. Georjan was especially good at remembering birthdays and making family and friends feel special with their favorite meal or gifts from her travels. Georjan was great daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend

who will be missed by so many lives she touched.

Internment  to be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 11:00 am, Sunset II Mausoleum, East Lawn Cemetery, 5757 Greenback Ln, Sacramento, CA.
