Georgeane Hand

Georgeane (Georgie) Hand passed away at the age of 73 on August 3, 2022, in Sacramento, California. Georgeane was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Ference and her father George Ference. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gary; her faithful canine companion, Ruger; sister Cynthia Ference (George Carlaftes); children, Deanna Clark (Matt), Brian (Barbara), stepdaughter Debra Ford (Mike); grandchildren Jay Devito (Garland), Brittney O’Keefe (Ryan), Mitchel Ford (Bre) and Emily Hand; and great grandchildren Isabelle O’Keefe, Jameson O’Keefe and George Devito.
Georgeane was a stay at home mother and her priority was raising her children and supporting their activities. When the children were grown, she volunteered for years at a kennel and enjoyed placing animals in their forever homes. Then she returned to work and retired from Plumbing Service Company. She liked working with her boss, the work crews, and their customers.
Georgeane enjoyed camping trips with the family to Bodega Bay and French Meadows. She also enjoyed vacationing in Idaho with her husband, and cross country trips with her sister. Georgeane was also the luckiest gamble that you had ever seen, whether it was Lake Tahoe, Reno or Thunder Valley.
Georgeane retired and begun walking at Tahoe Park. She greeted and talked with all the walkers and their dogs, and stayed in touch with them even when she could not walk at the park anymore.
