George F. Huey

George F. Huey, of Sacramento, California, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 16th, 2023, at the age of 96, surrounded by his loving family.

George was born on April 25, 1927 in Walla Walla, WA and at a young age the family moved to Stockton, CA. His father was Ock (Sam Lee) Huey and his mother was Wong Shee.  George was the eldest of the family (Joe, May, Hong, Henry, Jim).

After the Korean War, he worked at the Huey Family Farm business and for over 30 years as a Supervisor for the United States Postal Service.

In 1956, George married Pauline Lee, who would be his wife and best friend for over 66 years.  Together, they enjoyed their free time in traveling, taking cruises and spending time with family and friends. 

George appreciated the great outdoors and camping, taking their truck and trailer all over the western United States.  They also traveled extensively by car throughout the United States and Canada sometimes taking previous routes but in the other direction to get a new perspective.

In his free time, George crafted fine furniture such as raised beds with headboards, tables, large cabinets, bookcases, pull-out drawers and many other unique products.  He also attended many self-improvement courses in college to gain new knowledge and skills.  A few of his ingenious inventions earned him recognition and awards from the Postal Service.  Another hobby was to grow fruits and vegetables sharing them with others so they can enjoy them also.

As many of you know, George loved to eat and enjoyed consuming a diverse assortment of food especially with family and friends.

At the youthful age of 85, George and Pauline sold their house in Stockton and moved to Sacramento for another chapter in their lives.

George is survived by Pauline, his wife of 66 years, his three children Kenneth, Ronald (Jeannie), Brian (Jenny) and one grandchild Brayden along with siblings Joe Huey & May Huey Jew.  Hong, Henry and Jim Huey preceded him in death.
