Frederick "Fred" Nelson, born May 22, 1934, in Racine Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025. He is survived by 6 children, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 brother, and a multitude of friends with whom he immensely enjoyed playing cards, fishing, golfing and just talking. He was a longtime parishioner, usher and Knight of Columbus at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Redding, CA. Fred served proudly in the Marine Corp during the Korean War, and upon returning to the US served in Washington D.C. as part of the Eisenhower presidential guard. He earned awards in sharp shooting and earned National Defense and Good Conduct awards.
There will be a Private interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Redding, CA.
