Freddie Gene Bowles

Fred Bowles, 7/6/40-2/1/26, of Galt, CA, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, friend, veteran, and mentor, passed away carrying with him the love of the family he cherished so deeply.

He was raised in Hanging Rock, Ohio, where he developed the strong values, love of nature & animals, and work ethic that guided him throughout his life. A proud Vietnam veteran, he served his country with honor and carried that same sense of duty and integrity into everything he did.

He was an active member of Kiwanis and the Order of the Amaranth, always committed to service, fellowship, and making his community better. Whether through volunteer work, mentoring others, or simply lending a hand to someone in need, he led by example.

Above all else, he was a family man. He is lovingly remembered by the love of his life, Patty, his five children: Cindi Bowles, Robert Christopher Bowles, Betty McWayne, David Ahern and Amanda Conklin, thirteen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, each of whom carries forward a piece of his strength, humanity, humor, and heart.

He was a coach in every sense of the word—on the field, in life, and through quiet moments of advice. He believed in setting the example rather than just giving instructions. His humble kindness and caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He will be especially remembered for his playful spirit—his silly faces in family photos, his deep love of music, and his habit of putting the names of the people he loved into the lyrics of his favorite songs. He made ordinary moments unforgettable, and his laughter was heartfelt and contagious.

His life was one of service, love, humor, and unwavering dedication to family and friends. Though he will be deeply missed, the lessons he taught, his steadying hand, the love he shared, and the joy & silliness he brought into our lives will remain with us always.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research or The Wounded Warrior Project, continuing his legacy of service and generosity.

He leaves behind a legacy of love that will echo for generations.
