Frank Joseph Gomes Jr.

Frank Joseph Gomes Jr., 75, of Sacramento, passed away suddenly on October 12th, 2022. He was born August 13, 1947, to Cecilia and Frank Gomes Sr.

Frank is survived by his sisters, Carol, Pat and his brother, Michael. He was a proud father and grandfather to his sons, Micheal and Richard, grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas, Casey, Joshua, and Lukas.

Frank began his extensive career with the California Youth Authority at O.H. Close Youth Correctional Facility in 1975, as a Teacher. During his career, he was employed in various capacities including Lieutenant, Senior Youth Correctional Counselor, Training Officer and Staff Services Manager I. He worked at the Northern Reception Center and Clinic, Preston School of Industry and DJJ Headquarters until his retirement in 2012.

Frank lived most of his life in the Sacramento area. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time at the horse races.

He will be missed by all.
