Pamela Rose

April 21, 1938 — January 8, 2024

Sacramento

Frances Pamela Rose (McCracken) passed away in her home on January 8, 2024.

Pamela was born on April 21, 1938 in Ventura CA and was the second of three children. She was one of three students in her 7th grade class in a two-room school in Gazelle, CA. She and her sister Margaret learned to drive on county roads, getting their licenses when they were just 14 years old. She graduated from Yreka High School in 1955. After marrying her husband, Dick, they moved to Chico, Weaverville, Marysville, and ultimately settled in Sacramento where they built their home and raised their three children.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her grandsons fondly remember her riding Space Mountain at Disneyland as well as her interest in helping them create enviable Pokemon collections. The walls of her office at home are festooned with pictures drawn by her beloved granddaughters. She loved gardening, quilting, collecting all things wonderful, and doting on her grandchildren. She will be especially remembered for her wonderful gingerbread houses that were the delight of friends and family.

Pamela was preceded in death by Harvey and Marjorie McCracken (parents); John McCracken (brother); and Margaret Eibert (sister). She is survived by Richard L. Rose (husband); Marla Kossick, Richard C. Rose, and Judy Rose (children); Michael, Kevin, Richard, Annika, and Ella (grandchildren); and Mary Craddock (dear friend).

At her request, there will be no service. She will be put to rest in the Gazelle Cemetary next to her parents and siblings.
