Felix Steve Valencia, was born in Sacramento County on November 17, 1948, to Felix Valencia and Esther Bernal. Steve attended Hiram Johnson High School, and served in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam. He was awarded the Purple Heart for his heroic service. He later became a group supervisor with the California Youth Authority, and a small business owner for Steveâs Upholstery. He was president of the Stockton Boulevard Merchants and Property Owners Association, and in 1989, he was presented with the National Veterans Small Business Advocate of the Year Award by President Bush in Washington, D.C.
Steveâs faith was an intrinsic part of his life; he was baptized in 2006 at The Church of God (Seventh Day) and was active within his church for many years.
Steve was blessed with a large family. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Rudy; and his stepdaughter, Deseret. He is survived by his loving wife, Adena; his siblings, Yolanda, Terri, Ernie, Sandra, Gabriel, and Denise; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; his children, Antoinette, Steven, Natalie, Ernie, Stefanie and Andrew; step children Nicole, Angel, Lydia, Anastasia, Sophia, Marcus, Christopher; Raised Rudy and Rosie and nearly two dozen grandchildren whom he loved to the moon, the stars, and back.
Steve passed July 7, at the age of 73, after a battle with illness. Steveâs spirit was bright, charismatic, and courageousâa spirit that will continue to live on in his beloved family. He will be greatly missed.
A viewing and service will be held at East Lawn Elk Grove Mortuary, 9189 E. Stockton Blvd., Elk Grove on Wednesday, July 20th, 2022 from 9:30 am to 10:00 am, with Funeral Services at 10:00 am, followed by the burial at 12 pm. A reception lunch will be held at The Wackford Community Center Ballroom located on 9014 Bruceville Road, Elk Grove at 1:30 pm.
