Evelyne Sylvia Solange McAllister

Evelyne Silvia Solange Touzeau McAllister passed away peacefully on August 17, 2017 in Sacramento, CA surrounded by her family. She is survived by her children: Nicole, Richard (Heidi), Nathalie (Rod), Stuart, Clifford (Amy), and 17 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her eternal companion David, her parents, her brother, and a sister. She was born on March 25, 1951 in Kehl, Germany and raised in her hometown of Strasbourg, France. At a young age she understood the importance of her faith even though it meant leaving home and crossing the ocean to her future. She married the love of her life, David McAllister, in 1974 and started her family, never looking back. She was a woman of many talents that she used in the service of family and friends. She loved painting, cross-stitch, decorating her home, and baking. Her traditional European Christmas cookies have been enjoyed and anticipated for years. She enjoyed shopping and could always be counted on to find a bargain. Growing up without a yard she found a passion for gardening which was second only to her devotion as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Evelyne was diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 2015. She was determined to fight it and continued to do so even after her sweetheart passed away almost a year later. She valiantly battled the cancer and thrived on small adventures with her best friend after chemo and radiation treatments. She made so many sweet friends with stories of courage just like hers. Evelyne was a woman of faith. She exemplified charity. She loved everyone she met and made sure they felt loved. She loved attending the temple and found comfort in reading the scriptures. Her love of the gospel was further manifested in how she taught her children and grandchildren. She taught them to love, to hope, and to have faith. She lived her life to the fullest and that life will always be cherished and remembered. Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3001 Wissemann Dr., Sacramento, CA. A viewing will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 9am-9:45am and the service will follow at 10:30am.
