Eula Mae Shelley, aged 89, was called home to the Lord on April 12, 2024, after bravely battling a series of illnesses.
Eula was born in Gore Oklahoma on January 3, 1935, to John and Pearl Bryson. She was the last surviving sibling among eleven children.
In the 1930s, her family moved to California, where she attended Riverdale High School and met Dennis Shelley. Their bond blossomed, and they married in 1955. Eula and Dennis were blessed with four children: Pam, Terri, Mike, and John.
Eula was a devoted homemaker. She loved being a wife and mom. She cherished moments spent with her family, and loved socializing with friends, relatives, and fellow members of her church.
Eula was Dennis's steadfast companion, working alongside him managing the daily tasks of country living. She devoted herself wholeheartedly, tending calves, pigs, goats, lambs, chickens, horses, ponies, ducks, dogs, and cats, and nurturing the land. Her fondness for dogs was widely known. Neighborhood dogs would run away from their home to come live with her. She lovingly opened her front door and added them to her brood of furry companions.
Eula was preceded in death by her cherished husband Dennis, with whom she shared 55 years of love and companionship, as well as her youngest son John. She is survived by her two daughters: Pam and her husband Dennis, Terri, and her husband Rick, along with her son Michael. Among her cherished grandchildren are Casey, Joey and his wife Noelle, Ricky and his wife Noemi, Rhiannon, and Julia. Additionally, she leaves behind her great-grandchildren Emily and Isabella.
Services to celebrate Eula's life will be held at East Lawn Elk Grove Memorial Park & Mortuary, located at 9189 E. Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, CA 95624, on April 18, 2024, at 2 PM.
