Once upon a time in Virginia a beautiful baby girl was born on February 13, 1945, to her parents Lors Smith and Justin Howard. Regretfully, we say they preceded her in death.
Elors attended High School at Roosevelt High in Fresno, CA.
Growing up in a Christian family, Elors joined the Church of Christ, San Jose, CA. She was faithful until her health began to decline.
As all young women do, Elors met and married her late husband Nelson Lonnie Hampton, Sr. From this union came four children, Roy Lee Hampton, Sandria Hampton-Gaines, Nelson Hampton and Vanessa Hampton-Dalcourt. Finding love again, Elors met and married the late Albert Roosma.
She worked in the medical field as well as the educational field. As Proverbs 31:15 reads: “She also rises while it is yet night, And provides food for her household. Her employment history is a record of her many talents.
On August 24, 2025, God stretched out his hand and said to Elors, “Come to me.” Elors took his hand and pulled off moral and put on immorality and went to receive her crown of life.
She leaves to cherish her memory Brothers James Roy Richardson and Leeroy Richardson, Children Sandria Hampton-Gaines (Karmen) of Stockon, California; Vanessa Hampton-Dalcourt (Allen) of San Jose, California; Nelson Hampton (Monique) of Elk Grove, California, 25 Grandchildren 19 Great Grand-Children, Childhood Friend Irene McDonald (Rowlett, Texas) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Those whom will receive her in Heaven Albert Roosma (late Husband), Timothy and Eddie Richardson (Brothers) Roy Hampton (son) and Nelson Lonnie Hampton, Sr.
This is not the end of the Elors Roosma Story, just the end of volume I. Volume II is now being written and you will see Elors again. I Thessalonians 4:13 reads, “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are a live and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.”
