Eileen Brown

Eileen Brown, age 99, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, in Salem, Oregon.

Eileen is predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Brown, and her sisters, Anne Wagner and Jean Baker. She is survived by her sister, Jane Reynolds; her son, Gregory Brown; her daughter, Teresa (Brown) Edmiston and her husband Tom Edmiston; her son, Randy Brown; her son, David Brown and his wife Tanya Brown; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; and many close friends.

Born in the township of Webb, Missouri, the daughter of William and Nellie Brewer, she was a long-time resident of Sacramento, California.

Eileen met her husband of 67 years, Lloyd Brown, after moving to Sacramento. She was working at a small diner where Lloyd was a frequent customer. When a song Lloyd enjoyed started playing on the juke box, Lloyd swept Eileen in his arms and they danced. They fell in love and were married in 1947 at the Methodist Church in Elk Grove.

After their retirement, Eileen and Lloyd traveled, hauling a large fifth-wheel travel trailer around the country. Eileen enjoyed square dancing with Lloyd for many years and relished the friendships she developed in the square dance community. She enjoyed baking, much to the delight of her husband, children and grandchildren, and spending time with friends and family.

Eileen will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Eileen’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing.

Friends and relatives are welcome at a memorial service, which will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Hilton Garden Inn Sacramento Elk Grove, 9241 Laguna Springs Drive, Elk Grove, CA 95758. Light refreshments will be served in the Sierra Room.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital.
