IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edith Marie
Ambrose
December 20, 1947 – March 4, 2026
Edith Ambrose, 78 of Sacramento, passed away on March 4, 2026, in Sacramento.
Edith was born in Lubeck, Germany to Edith and John Gork on 12/20/1947. Her and her family immigrated to Fort Bragg and then to San Francisco for a better future. Edith cherished her Hungarian heritage and enjoyed being immersed in her Hungarian culture and participated in many Hungarian cultural activities, including the Hungarian Folk dance group where she forged many life-long friendships, many with whom she remained friends to this day. She worked at Bechtel for many years and that is where she met her husband, Stephen Ambrose, on 02/17/1979. Edith was known for her love of family and friends, often describing herself as a "domestic engineer." Her social life was super important to her, and she loved all her friends and family very much.
Edith passed away surrounded by her loved ones and she is survived by Stephen Ambrose (spouse), Stephanie Ambrose (daughter), Eric Ambrose (son) and her son-in-law, Randel McDermott.
