Dorothy Floydean Hornefius

Born June 13, 1926, in Bellflower, CA, to parents John & Lettie Baldridge. After her 4^th bout with cancer, Dorothy peacefully went to heaven February 5, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 siblings and her oldest son, Dan, in 2014.

Dorothy was the first one in her family to attend and graduate from college. She so loved being a teacher for 25 years, and made a difference in the lives of so many.

A Christian woman, her faith was strong and she was ready to go be with the Lord.

Dorothy is survived by her two children: Chuck Cordova (Diana) of Ocala, FL, and Sharon Thorpe (Kent) of Sacramento, CA. She is survived by her 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 new great grandchildren. She was so proud of them all and loved them dearly. She was proud of her 5 generations all living within a 17mile area and shared that with everyone!

Dorothy’s Funeral Service will be Friday, February 25, 2022, and  it  will  include: Viewing at East Lawn between 9-10 a.m., Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, and there is a family Graveside Service at East Lawn at 12:30. East Lawn is located on Greenback Lane.
