Doris Marlene (Nolte) Hobday
October 18, 1938 – November 3, 2024
Doris Marlene Hobday, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on November 3, 2024, after a brief battle with cancer. She was 86 years old. Born in Sacramento, California, on October 18, 1938, Doris grew up in Roseville, CA. She graduated from Roseville High School in 1968 and continued her education at Heald College.
On November 23, 1958, Doris married Glenn Hobday and became a lifelong resident of Sacramento. They shared 65 wonderful years together. Doris was a devoted member of the Camp Fire Girls and found joy in dancing. Later in life, she discovered a passion for quilting, creating award-winning quilts and beautiful artwork cherished by her family and friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lunetta (Cole) Nolte, and her daughter, Alene Hobday. She is survived by her loving husband, Glenn Hobday; her son, Alan Hobday (Karla); her daughters, Annette Hobday (Aaron Douglas) and Alanna Koyama (Craig); her brother, Neil Nolte (Joan); as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A service in her honor will be held at the Chapel of East Lawn East Sacramento on
Sunday, November 17, 2024, at 10:00 AM.
A gravesite memorial will follow the service, with a Celebration of Life at
942 El Dorado Way, Sacramento, CA 95819.
