Donald Raymond Cutting passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022, peacefully in his sleep.  Don was born in Enumclaw, Washington on October 2, 1932 to Ralph and Abby (Abigail) Cutting.  He spent most of his early life on a farm in Enumclaw Washington with his parents and two brothers and one sister.  Don joined the Navy and became Active Duty on February 6, 1952 as a Sonarman during the Korean conflict.  He was honorably discharged on December 23, 1953.  Don then went onto college at UC Davis, California. 

Don married Betty Cox in 1955 and they had 4 children – Glen, Randy, Donna and Roger.  He then married Barbara McPeak on February 3, 1973 and they have 1 daughter Susan and he has two step-children Judy and Alan.  Don has many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.  Don loved his family, especially the kids. 

Don was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, his parents Ralph and Abby, brothers Charles and Dale, sister Cora, stepson Alan, son-in-law Sam and grandchildren Justin, William and Christian.

Don and Barbara were part of the Bus Nuts, they enjoyed many years of traveling around the United States in their bus.  They spent many years traveling with their friends Joe and Kathy.  Don loved to sing, when his children were young he sang in the church choir and in the car.  They never used a radio, he would sing.  Don loved cross word puzzles, he spent years sharpening his brain doing cross word puzzles.  He also used to sit and crack almonds and walnuts from his trees while watching television.  He would give them away to anyone who wanted them. 

Don had a long career as a truck driver.  For a while he owned his own truck. He drove for the State of California for long over 25 years.  He delivered school textbooks and later he delivered food to schools.  He said people were always happy to see them as he brought USDA free or low-cost foods to the schools.  He loved his job.  After he retired, he continued to drive as a retired annuitant. 

Don was always kind-hearted and loving.  His family is going to miss him, but his legacy of kindness will continue in the hearts and lives of his family. 

A gathering of friends and family for a Memorial Service will take place at noon on Friday, July 15, 2022 at East Lawn Mortuary 5757 Greenback Lane Sacramento, CA.  A Committal Service will take place following at 1:30 in the Rose Garden, Row 3-West, Grave 5.  The family would like to invite you to a Potluck in honor of Don at the American Legion Hall Post 521 at 6700 8th Street Rio Linda CA
