Donald Decuir

August 17, 1933 — January 30, 2026

Sacramento

Donald Decuir, 92, of Sacramento via Richmond, CA, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026.

Born on August 17, 1933 in Louisiana to Elizabeth Verret and Herman Decuir, he was known for his warm, welcoming smile, the twinkle in his eye, and his loving greeting of, "Hey, baby!" Donald was a talented master carpenter as well as a photography hobbyist and avid fisherman and boating enthusiast.

Donald could strike up a conversation with anyone, using that smile, charming demeanor, and the mischievous glint in his eye to instantly make everyone feel like they'd known him for ages.

Donald was steadfast in his beliefs, and was always kind, generous, and unfailingly loyal to those important to him. He commanded respect and would not tolerate unfair treatment toward anyone. He was also inquisitive and showed an interest in what others were doing, whether it was a family member working on a home repair, someone he met while at the local Goodwill store, and almost everyone he encountered at his favorite buffet!

His large family was one of his greatest joys, and it is full of loved ones enormously blessed to have spent time with him during his 92 years. Donald is survived by his wife Jacqueline, children David (Connie d. 2015), Veronica, Katherine (Marlon), Anna (Robert), Claudine (Reginald), Joyce, and Laurie; grandchildren Michael Anthony, Lolo, Meagan, Corey (Sholanda), Michael James, Janay, Rebecca (Edward), Danielle (Aaron), Darrin, David Paul (Genetta), Jamar (Calandra), Ebony (Christopher), Taylor, Sydney, and many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. Donald was preceded in death by his son Michael (Lynn).
