Domitila Galvan

December 17, 1977 — March 9, 2025

Domitila Patricia Galvan, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, tia and friend. Though her time with us was far too short, the impact she had on our lives is immeasurable, and her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Domitila, or Tila as many of us lovingly, called her, was born on December 17th, 1977, in Sacramento, California to Leonardo and Josefa Galvan. Tila was a long-time resident of the West Sacramento Area where she lived and raised her babies for over 30 years, meanwhile building her career in the South Sacramento working within the community changing lives. In 2018, she made the courageous decision to move to Oregon, a place she called home as she lived with her children, Daniel, Aurelia, and Adrian. Her love for them was boundless, and she devoted herself to them wholeheartedly. Tila’s greatest pride and joy were her children, who were the center of her world. She found great joy in being their mother, guiding them, loving them, and supporting them through all of life’s challenges.

Her love grew even further with the arrival of her grandbaby, Gavin, who brought new light and love into her life. Tila's family was her everything, and her bond with each of them will never be broken. Her outstanding, fun, and strong legacy will live on through her kids and her nieces that she loved as her own, Alexandra and Andrina. Tila leaves to mourn her siblings, Theodore, Israel, Leonardo, Clara, and George. Their childhood was filled with an overflow of memories and although they each went their own directions as adults, they always knew they can depend on each other for support. As a sister, Tila had a best friend in her sister Clara. Their connection was deep and unwavering. The bond they shared was one built on laughter, trust, and a love that only siblings could truly understand. Clara’s companionship was a constant source of strength for Tila, and they supported each other through thick and thin. If you know Tila and Clara well, you know they would spend countless hours shopping, especially at the good will just being silly and releasing stress together. That was the power of sisterhood and friendship.

Tila's passing on March 9th, 2025, leaves a void that can never be filled, but we find comfort in knowing that she is at peace, embraced by the love of God. While we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived. Today, as we remember Domitila Patricia Galvan, we hold onto the precious moments we shared with her. We remember her strength; the positive impact she had deposit in all of us all including the unconditional love she gave so freely. Though she is no longer with us in body, Tila’s spirit will live on in her children, her grandchild, her siblings, nieces, and nephew, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Rest in peace, Tila. You will forever be loved and never forgotten.
