Debbie Doan

October 24, 1953 — January 19, 2023

Debbie passed away January 19, 2023 after battling early onset Alzheimer’s for several years. Debbie was born and raised in Sacramento by her mother Dorothy in 1953.

While in her younger days in Sacramento, she enjoyed showing her horses and Irish Setters, bowling, and attending car races with friends.

Debbie followed her dreams and graduated from American River College in 1975 with her Associates Degree in Nursing. She then enjoyed a 42 year career helping thousands of people in hospice, home health, and outpatient medicine clinics. She took pride in her work and was beloved and depended on by her coworkers to assist with wound care and IV placement. She was, after all, the “IV Queen”.

In her free time Debbie continued her passion of taking care of animals by raising a range of pets in a range of sizes and personalities. She also loved investing her time back into her home whether she was pruning her cherished rose bushes or arguing with the riding lawn mower. Debbie enjoyed watching sports and volunteering at school functions, summer camps, and with special needs children at her local Equine Therapy program. She was most proud of her daughters, Natalie and Molly.

Debbie is predeceased by her mother Dorothy Manhart, Nanny Hilda Glutsch, and younger brother Carl Manhart Jr.

She is survived by her two daughters Natalie and Molly Doan, her older brother Greg (Kari) Manhart of Sacramento as well as many dear friends.

1 John 4:12

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.
