David Henry Strader

David H. Strader, 73, of West Sacramento, California, passed away on September 19, 2025, in Sacramento.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park on Folsom Boulevard, Sacramento, with Pastor David officiating. Funeral arrangements made by East Lawn Funeral Home.

David was born in Sacramento, California to Gail and Johanna Strader on November 22, 1951. His first marriage to Penny lasted 8 months, his marriage to second wife Bernice lasted 8 years, and married his third and current wife, Nancy Willson-Strader, on August 6, 2011, in San Mateo, California.

He attended Sacramento City College, and later worked as a stock boy, a Sheriff’s Deputy in the Gold Country, a social worker for the County, a big rig driver for Werner Trucking, and a Title and Registration Specialist at DMV Headquarters in Sacramento, for 11 years, until retiring a few years ago.

He kept abreast of the news daily, was a Christian, a patriot, loved to read, and was a toy train enthusiast, taught boys at church Ranger meetings, was a classic TV buff, and enjoyed Renaissance Fairs and dramatic theatre, was well-liked by his co-workers, and loved animals and nature.

David is survived by his wife Nancy, and his five siblings, Deborah, Mark, John, Paul, and Rebecca.
