David Brian Berg

On September 30, 2023, David Brian Berg, aka Big Daddy Sea Captain/Dapper Daddy, and Pop Pop to his grandchildren, set his sails for the sweetest fishing spot in Heaven.
David is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Lisa Walker-Berg and daughters, Jacquie Wheat (Donovan Wheat) and Jennifer Berg, and Grandchildren Hayley Wheat and Austin Wheat.
David is also survived by his sisters and brothers; Julie Holt, Deanna Berg, Ron Berg, Robert Berg, Jenee San Filippo and numerous nieces and nephews. His mother, Freda Slack, step-father Ted Slack and step-mother Rhonda Berg. David is proceeded in death by his father, Richard Berg.
David was born in Sacramento, California on August 18, 1963 and was raised in Elk Grove, California. A welder for 44 years, he worked at Lawson Mechanical and was a member of the Local 447. It was rumored David could, "weld a pigs ass to a wooden fence."
David was an avid fisherman, competing in many bass tournaments. He also loved to golf and enjoyed NASCAR parties and camping.
