Cynthia Janet Keltner

June 10, 1957 — March 16, 2025

Elk Grove, CA

Cynthia Janet Keltner (Cariker) passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, at the age of 67 years, 9 months, and 6 days, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, service, and quiet strength. Born on June 10, 1957, in Marysville, California, Cindy was the beloved daughter of Judy and the late Keith Cariker.

Cindy grew up in Olivehurst, where she cultivated lifelong friendships and graduated from Marysville High School, class of 1975. She went on to attend California State University, Sacramento, where she distinguished herself as a leader in the vibrant Greek Life community while earning her degree from the School of Health and Human Services. It was there that she met the love of her life, Rick Keltner. Their shared bond was the foundation of a beautiful marriage that spanned 45 years, filled with unwavering love, loyalty, and partnership.

A proud, loving, and devoted sister, Cindy is survived by her siblings, Fonda Shaw (Tim), Brian Cariker, Stan Keltner (Peggy), and Tina and Kelly Keltner, and a host of nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father Keith, her parents-in-law Bud and Norma Keltner, and her sister Catherine Theresa Keltner

Cindy was a lifelong and passionate member of Alpha Phi International Fraternity, Epsilon Gamma chapter, where she remained deeply involved for over 50 years. Her commitment to the principles of the Alpha Phi sisterhood and the concept and value of 'fraternalism' extended well beyond her collegiate years — she served as a trusted Chapter Advisor and member of the House Corporation Board of Directors, offering guidance and support to countless young women who were fortunate enough to know her. Her dedication to Greek life also extended to Phi Kappa Tau, Gamma Iota chapter, where she shared her warmth and wisdom as a valued volunteer and mentor.

Cindy’s life was a testament to service learning, quiet generosity, and steadfast loyalty. She touched the lives of many with her gentle humor, thoughtful advice, and ability to make everyone feel valued and seen. Her loss is deeply felt, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to love her.
