Cora Matney

Cora M. Matney, 87, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025. She lived a long and loving life devoted to her family and those she cared for deeply. Born to Ray and Grace Albers on October 4, 1937, Cora was the youngest of four siblings. Her family later moved from Hazen, North Dakota to Lodi, California, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Jack Matney. Together, they settled in Sacramento and raised their three children, creating a home filled with love and laughter. Cora was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack; her daughter, Kari; her parents; and her siblings. She is survived by her sons, Mark and Bret Matney; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will forever cherish her warmth, strength, and kindness. She will be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering love, and the countless lives she touched throughout her years.

 Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A graveside memorial service will be held at East Lawn East Sacramento on October 24th at 10:30 a.m. 

A celebration of life will follow at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center, 6151 H St., Sacramento, CA 95819.
