Consuelo Terrases

Consuelo “Connie” Terrases was a caring companion, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She left this world January 21, 2022 at age 75.
She was born to Rosario Diaz and Aniesto Vargas on May 10, 1946. She was one of 15 children and was close to her surviving siblings Gloria, Kitty, Mary, Fred, Lupe, Rosie, Bobby.
She attended Al Viso elementary then continued on to Camden Jr High and High school. She lived a very hard life and upbringing but that didn’t stop her from being happy and proud. Her father instilled in her that if “whenever you want to eat, you have to work” and that’s what she did, she worked on the ranch as a girl picking fruit to working at Palm Gardens for 13 years as a Housekeeping Supervisor where got multiple awards for being outstanding and dependable. She retired early due to battling cancer which she beat and lived in remission for the remainder of her days.
She met John at the age of 14 and married at age 17. They resided in Woodland, Ca for nearly 20 years then moved to Sacramento where they had a total of 5 children John Jr, Henrietta, Saadia, Hector and Josephine. She was blessed with 28 grandkids and 28 great-grandchildren. She was close to every one of them and shared a special bond with all of them.
Connie loved the Lord and attended Service regularly. She was always fashionably dressed and loved reading her bible, and Christian novels. She also enjoyed watching her stories on TV and cooking in the kitchen. She made the best homemade tortillas, Albondigas and of course her famous chicken tacos. She loved being outside watching the birds, Chula (her duck) and her grandkids. Grandma Connie loved playing cards and doing crossword puzzles even more with a nice cold Coca-Cola and bag of Classic Lays potato chips.
Her laughter, love and passion for family will continue to shine through her children and grandchildren.
A service will be held on Wednesday February 16, 2022 at 11:00 am at East Lawn 3939 Fruitridge Rd, Sacramento, Ca 95820 followed by a Lunch at Caballo Blanco Restaurante on 5604 Franklin Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95824.
