Claudette Shaw

Claudette Shaw was born Claudette Waters on June 22, 1938 in Newellton Louisiana to Leon Waters and Georgia Crockett. Claudette moved to California with her mother Georgia and her stepfather Dave Jackson in the mid 1940’s. After her graduation from Edison high School in Stockton CA in 1956, the family moved to Sacramento California.
Claudette began her career with the State of California in 1959 (Department of Motor Vehicles), and retired in 1998 (Department of Corrections).
Claudette was a wonderful mother to her two sons Steven and Darrin. She enjoyed hosting holiday events at her home. Which she always made you feel welcome as soon as you walked through her front door. Claudette also loved to travel; her favorite destination was Jamaica. She was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to music, along with sharing family history with the younger generation.
Claudette entered eternity on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the age of 83 in Sacramento, CA. She is proceeded in death by her mother Georgia Jackson and stepfather Dave Jackson, her father Leon Waters and her grandson Sammuel Anderson. Claudette is survived by her sons Steven Quarles and Darrin Gindratt of Sacramento CA; granddaughters Savanna Quarles and Hope Hopkins of Sacramento CA, and Paige Hopkins of Texas; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Claudette will always be remembered for her display of her love, patience, humble personality, kindness, and caring towards others. Our precious angel, we love and miss you.
A viewing is scheduled for Friday June 17, 2022, from 11:00am. -11:30am at East Lawn located at 9189 East Stockton Blvd. Elk Grove CA. Graveside service to follow at East Lawn in Elk Grove CA.
