Claire Louise OâShea
May 26, 1930 - September 25, 2022
Claire Louise OâShea, also known as âNanaâ to her many grandchildren, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2022 in Sacramento, CA, at the age of 92, after living a long and fulfilling life.
She was born and raised in New York during the 30â, 40âs and 50âs, at a time when she had to be strong and demand her place within society. And that she did. She was an absolute force of nature.
She moved to California in 1953 and brought that Brooklyn style grit with her while raising seven children and being an always fashionable woman of conviction. Claire was fierce, classy, bold, spoke her mind, loved deeply and was loved deeply by so many. Her love and connection to God is one weâll cherish forever.
Claire lived an incredible and full life working as a Real Estate Agent into her 70âs. She enjoyed living in the country and visiting the ocean. She was not one to miss a movie date, family function or her Red Hat Society events. She was also, very likely, Frank Sinatraâs #1 fan.
Her pride and joy was her rescued dog âHappyâ, whom sheâd proudly walk multiple times a day around her neighborhood, making lifelong friendships with her neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Fred OâShea, daughter Christine Lenford, brother Kevin DeLancey, parents John and Catherine DeLancey, as well as her cherished pets, her Cat âChickenâ and her Dog âWillie.â
She is survived by her sons Michael (Wendy) Lenford, James (DâAnne) Lenford, and David Garcelon, daughters Kathy (Hicks), Susan (David) Diller and Kimberly (Scott) Bradley; as well as 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
