Cipriano John Ortega

Cipriano J Ortega 
9/26/1936 to 7/29/2023 

Cipriano J Ortega, better known as “CP” passed away on July 29th, 2023, in Fremont, Ca. at the age of 86. 

CP was born in Kansas but grew up in Albuquerque, NM then in 1954 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp at the age of 18 before making his way to California in the late 60’s. CP was the 9th of 11 children and is only survived by his brother Efren Ortega. After completing his service in 1958 CP met and married Nancy Ligon Ortega (who passed away in 2016), They raised 3 children,  Steve Ortega, William Ortega, Lisa Ortega while he began a 30+ year career in the automotive industry where he worked as a body and fender technician. 

In CP’s later years he loved gardening, playing cards, Yahtzee, perusing garage sales, and listening to music with his long-time partner, Ines Padua who passed away in 2020. His favorites musicians were Elvis Presley, Patsy Cline, Freddy Fender, and Jose Feliciano. CP is survived by his children, Steve, William, and Lisa; Stepdaughters Esther Calderon, and Lea Codara and Son in Laws Thomas Loya, and Donovan Codara. 
He also loved spending time with his 6 grandchildren, (Joseph Vargas, Maisey Ortega, Selena Ortega, Jessica Calderon, Luis Calderon, and Donovan Codara Jr.) and 8 great grandchildren, (Kalani, Keoni, Sophia, Athena, Dax, Natalia, Savana, and Scarlett.) 

Cp will be laid to rest on Thursday August 31st at 1 PM
