CHARLES “WILL” WILLIAMS WAS BORN ON 14 NOVEMBER 1939 IN BOGALUSA LOUISIANA. HIS PARENTS WERE THE LATE ARCEL WILLIAMS AND LILLIE MAE WILLIAMS. WILL WAS CALLED HOME PEACEFULLY ON 10 SEPTEMBER 2024 SURROUNDED BY FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
WILL ATTENDED CENTRAL MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL IN BOGALUSA, LA AND WAS RECRUITED TO PLAY FOOTBALL AS THE QUARTERBACK FOR LELAND BAPTIST COLLEGE WHERE HE OBTAINED A BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN ENGLISH. AFTER COLLEGE HE WAS DRAFTED INTO THE UNITED STATES ARMY AND SHORTLY THEREAFTER, HE WAS ACCEPTED INTO OFFICERS TRAINING SCHOOL. DURING HIS MILITARY CAREER HE WAS AWARDED THE MERITORIOUS SERVICE MEDAL, BRONZE STAR MEDAL, GOOD CONDUCT MEDAL, NATIONAL SERVICE DEFENSE MEDAL, VIETNAM SERVICE MEDAL (2 CAMPAIGNS), COMBAT INFANTRY BADGE, EXPERT RIFLE MARKSMENSHIP BADGE, AMONGST MANY OTHER NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS WHILE SERVING OUR COUNTRY.
WILL FIRST MET HIS BEAUTIFUL SOULMATE LIBBY WHILE THEY WERE BOTH STATIONED AT FORT POLK, LA AND THEY HAVE REMAINED INSEPARABLE FOR THE PAST
52 YEARS. DURING THIS TIME BRIAN WAS BORN IN GERMANY AND CRAIG WAS BORN IN SAN FRANCISCO CA. AS A FAMILY THEY TRAVELED OVERSEAS AND THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES.
WILL COMPLETED 22 YEARS OF SERVICE IN THE ARMY AT THE PRESIDIO, IN SAN FRANCISCO, CA AND FOLLOWING HIS RETIREMENT, THE FAMILY MOVED TO SACRAMENTO, CA.
THERE HE BEGAN HIS NEXT CAREER AS A MAIL HANDLER AT THE U. S. POSTAL SERVICE. HE RETIRED FROM THE POST OFFICE AFTER 19 YEARS OF SERVICE.
SOME OF WILL’S HOBBIES AND INTERESTS INCLUDED FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL, AND BASEBALL. HIS FAVORITE PASS TIMES INCLUDED WATCHING THE RAIDERS, GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS, AND ATTENDING THE CENTER HIGH SCHOOL COUGARS EVENTS. WILL LOVED TO LISTEN TO B.B. KING AND HE ALSO ENJOYED SPENDING TIME AND MONEY AT THUNDER VALLEY CASINO WHERE HIS LUCK WOULD COME AND GO. WILL WAS AN AVID VOLUNTEER FOR THE MCCLELLAN LITTLE LEAGUE WHERE YOU COULD OFTEN FIND HIM WORKING THE BARBECUE GRILL OR SPENDING QUALITY TIME WITH THE PLAYERS.
WILL IS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, LILLIE MAE AND ARCEL; DAUGHTER TAMMY MILLER; GRANDSON JACOBI SCOTT; SISTER CARRIE LEE HICKS; AND BROTHER-IN-LAW ROYAN BURRIS.
WILL’S MEMORY WILL BE CHERISHED BY HIS CHILDREN: BRIAN (IRENE) (JORDAN), CRAIG (ERIN) (DALEN) (ALINA AND MICHAEL) (ALISA AND ANTHONY), OF SACRAMENTO, CA. CHRIS; BRIDGET SCOTT (PARVIZ) (PJ) (JORDAN) OF BOGALUSA LA. SARAH RICHARDS (MARVIN) (VANESSA) (OLIVIA) (MARVIN JR.) OF CA. WANDA (XAVIER) (XAIDEE) OF CA. SIBLINGS: DONALD (CAROLYN), KENNETH, BRENDA BURRIS, BROTHER-IN- LAW ROBERT HICKS, OF BOGALUSA LA. ARLENE (ARCHIE) DURHAM OF HOUSTON TX. ALONG WITH NUMEROUS OTHER GRANDCHILDREN, GREAT- GRANDCHILDREN, NIECES, NEPHEWS, AND MANY DEAR FRIENDS, AND RELATIVES.
