Charles “Chuck” W. Walker

September 12, 1940 – November 27, 2024

Charles “Chuck” Walker, a kind and loving soul, passed away on November 27, 2024. Born to Jesse and Iris Walker on September 12, 1940, he was raised in Arkansas and Illinois.

In 1957, Charles enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving honorably until his discharge in 1965.

During his time in the Navy, he met his first wife, Barbara Riggs, in California. Together, they built their life in Sacramento before moving to Elk Grove in 1975.

Throughout the 1970s, Charles was an active member of his community. He coached Florin Little League and participated in various sports, including men’s softball, flag football, and basketball. He cherished memories of family camping trips and adventures with the NorCal Gold Country Classic Jeep events.

Professionally, Charles dedicated 33 years to PG&E. He also became part-owner of Vince’s Restaurant in Elk Grove and later worked for Moreno Trenching.

Widowed in 1996, Charles later married Hazel Ramsey, with whom he shared a loving marriage until her passing in 2017. In addition to his wives, Charles is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and his son-in-law, David Berg.

Charles is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Walker and Lisa Berg; his grandchildren, Matthew Lopez (Shelby), Elora Skelton (Alexander), Jacquelyne Wheat (Donovan), Jennifer Berg, and Bianca Ramsey; and five great-grandchildren.

Deeply loved and admired by many, Charles will be profoundly missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

In lieu of cards and flowers, the family kindly requests that charitable donations in Charles’ honor be made to Blissful Retreat and Rescue at www.blissfulretreatandrescue.com.

A Celebration of Life will be announced by the family in 2025.
