Carmen Rodriguez

Carmen Rodriguez, 92, passed away peacefully on August 4th, 2022. Born in Chandler, AZ on November 5th, 1929 she is survived by her children Marie Valerio, Irene Weinberger (Dave) & Ann-Marie Rodriguez, her grandchildren Melanie Gutierrez (Connie), Don Weinberger (Elizabeth) & Krystal Alvarez (Angel), her great-grandchildren Andrew Alvarez and Emma Weinberger.

She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Rodriguez, grandson Armando Gutierrez and parents Luis & Mary Contreras. Carmen also leaves behind her brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Carmen was a bright light and life of the party. She exuded a warm, fun-loving energy which made it impossible not to love her. She loved watching her novellas (Mexican soap operas) while having her morning toast and coffee, listening to Mexican music on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and she had a great love of dancing. She was especially known for her cooking skills, which she shared for each to carry on the tradition. She will be greatly missed to all who loved her.

Carmen's celebration of life will be held at East Lawn Elk Grove Memorial Park in Elk Grove, California on Wednesday, August 24th, 2022 with viewing beginning at 9am and services at 10am. A reception in her honor will be held following the services at VFW Post #1267, 7576 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95823.
