Bill passed away peacefully at ACC Greenhaven Terrace Assisted Living in Sacramento. Bill was born in 1926 in Sacramento California to Ernest Tong Yee and Sem Soohoo. He graduated from CK McClatchy High School, Sacramento City College and CSU Sacramento. He served in the U.S. Navy in 1944. He started his career as a food broker and then began doing real estate to buy and sell fixer-up houses. He later was a partner who owned and operated Grandma’s Spanish Seasoning Company in Sacramento from the early 1970’s to 1990 until he retired. Bill is preceded in death by his wife Sarah and leaves behind sons Ryan and Gerald (Sue), preceded in death by Dennis (Dyan), grandchildren Bryan (Hien), Landen, Kristin, Travis (Katrin), Dawn (Jordan), Rachel (Mike), Mason (Natasha), Marissa and Jordan, great-grand-children Madolyn, Avery, Carson, Drew, Lena, Declan, Dylan, Shannon, Quinn, Samuel and Savannah, and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed, especially his friendly demeanor and dry humor, jesting personality. Bill enjoyed travel, trips to Las Vegas, going on cruises with family and friends, ball room dancing, watching the Sacramento Kings and fishing during his later active years in life.
The family of Bill will be honoring his wishes and having a private service with family on February 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. The family wishes to thank ACC Greenhaven Terrace and Blossom Ridge Hospice nurses and staff for their care, compassion and support.
In lieu of flowers, donations to ACC Greenhaven Terrace are welcome.
