Betty Lucile Schauer

Betty was born to Robert and Helen Webb in San Francisco on February 23, 1934. She grew up with her beloved brother Robert in Elk Grove.  After graduating from Elk Grove High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Edwin Schauer on September 21, 1951.  In 1959, Betty and Ed moved to Carmichael where they raised their daughters Dede, Donna and Lynda. Betty welcomed sons-in-law Doyle, Declan and Harold into the family. She was blessed with grandchildren Kevin (Melissa), Ryan, Alexis (Kirk), Jenefer (Matt) and great grandchildren Fox and Arlene.

Betty managed Western Car Rental for 25 years. After Ed retired, she worked part time for the Sacramento Blood Bank. While the girls were growing up, Betty spent many hours supporting the Camilla Softball League, Girl Scouts, and organizing the Elk Grove High School reunions.

She made friends easily and loved to organize parties and trips with neighbors, friends and family. Ed and Betty loved to dance and belonged to the Saraband Dance Club for 35 years. They traveled throughout the US and abroad and also made wonderful memories at their cabin in the Sierras with friends and family.

Betty passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on October 13, 2023. A private family memorial will be planned in the Spring. Should you desire, contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
