Beth was born to Jerry and Lorene Smith on September 6, 1961 in Denver, CO. Beth grew up all over the United States, being a Navy Brat, but most of her childhood was spent in Ravenswood, WV with her parents and her little sister, Kathy. When Beth was a junior in high school, her family moved to Cortez, CO and stayed with her grandmother for a couple of years. She finished high school in Cortez. Shortly after, her family moved to Casper, WY where Beth met her first husband and father of her daughters, Sandra and Natasha. After moving to Sacramento, CA in 1993, Beth and Kerry parted ways and Beth met Edward, whom she was happily married to until her untimely passing on May 3, 2026.
Beth was an avid reader, a hobby she passed down to both of her daughters, Natasha moreso. She was also an amazing seamstress, making many clothes for her daughters from play clothes to prom dresses to gowns for entire bridal parties. In her free time, Beth could be found going for long walks with Edward and their dog, Duchess, watching the Discovery Channel, or cheering on her favorite football team, the Minnesota Vikings.
Beth worked as an apartment manager between Oregon and California for many years before going to school for Medical Assisting. Her MA degree allowed her to support her family while doing what she loved, helping people at Molina Medical Center. After her career in Medical Assisting, she started working for FedEx as a Customer Service Rep. She moved up through the ranks to Premium Customer Service Representative and finally Operations Coordinator, a position she was promoted to on 10/31/2021 and remained in for the rest of her 21 year career with the company.
She leaves behind the cherished memories with her devoted mother, Lorene, whom she loved dearly. She is survived by her loving husband, Edward, her daughters Sandra and Natasha, sons-in-law Warren and Eric, and eleven grandchildren, Isaiah, Travon, Xavier, Kenneth, Noah, Zachariah, Dalysia, Elijah, Eric’Michael, Demarcus, and Xolani. She also leaves behind her sister, Kathy, sisters-in-law Diane, Robin, and Janice, her niece Maria, nephew JC (wife Jaime), nephew Michael, great nieces Alexus, Alaya and Angela, great nephews Marcel, Chase, and Colby, and great great nephew Gabriel. In addition to her immediate family are many relatives and friends whose lives she touched.
Beth will be remembered for her infectious smile she so willingly and freely gave, her contagious laugh, and the love she carried for her family.
