BART ORRICK
Bartley Daryl Orrick was born September 2, 1939 in Chico, CA to Raymond and Faye Orrick. He attended Chico High School and Chico State University, graduating in 1961.
Taking up the sport of golf at just 10, he led the school golf teams in both high school and college. At the age of just 17, he won the first of 3 Chico City Championships and his passion for golf continued throughout his entire life. In his later years he “shot his age” many times at the very difficult Whitney Oaks Golf Course in Rocklin, CA. What an incredible feat!
Bart enjoyed a long career in business, climbing the ranks in such companies as IBM and Exxon, finally retiring in 2005.
In 1984 he married the love of his life, Pam, whom he sweetly called “Precious”. They recently celebrated 40 wonderful years of marriage. They loved to travel together and their passports are well stamped, but to Bart there was no place like home. They had spent the last 27 years living in Rocklin, CA and he would be the first to tell you that home with Pam was his favorite place of all.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; his brother, Jerry; his two sons, Mike (Kirsten) and Matt (Michelle); stepdaughter, Tammie (Joshua); 9 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
Bart was a truly remarkable man, and nobody knew him who did not call him friend. His love of family knew no bounds and his wonderful sense of humor brought joy to all who knew him. His legacy will live on through the memories shared by family and friends who knew him best, and the incredible artwork he created over the years.
Bart was called home to Heaven on March 27th, surrounded by loved ones. He will be missed by so many.
